This beginner-level course is aimed at students who have mastered block-based coding and are ready to learn text-based coding. They will get introduced to text-based coding through the Coding Adventure program from CodeMonkey.
The course is divided into two units of 10 lessons each. Each lesson will be of 1.5 hours (90 minutes) duration. For this cohort, classes will be held once every week on Saturdays.
In the 10 lessons under Unit 1, the students will first understand the fundamentals of text-based coding as they help a monkey catch bananas in fun-filled coding challenges. They will continue the fun-filled learning as they meet new characters and learn more advanced coding concepts like functions and conditions.
In the Unit 2 lessons, students will learn more advanced coding concepts like Boolean logic, comparison operators, return values and triggering events. They will create a medium complexity game for application of all those coding concepts.
Students can register for the full course (all 20 lessons) or for Unit 1 (first 10 lessons) now.
