Description

Scratch is a visual programming tool developed by MIT to help kids learn to code. Using a simple drag-and-drop interface, kids are able to put together code to create games, animations and stories.

This is the beginner course for Grade 3-6 students who may have some exposure to coding or Scratch. In this course, they will learn fundamental coding concepts such as sequencing, conditionals, loops, variables and functions while building cool and exciting video games.

The course is divided into two units of 10 lessons each. Each lesson will be of 1.5 hours (90 minutes) duration. For this cohort, classes will be held twice every week on Wednesdays & Sundays.

In Unit 1, students are introduced to Scratch and the fundamental coding concepts through simple games and animations. Unit 2 is all about the application of concepts as students build advanced games such as platformers, racing games, shooter games.

After doing this course, students will have a solid foundation of coding concepts and will be ready to move on to text-based coding in Code Wizards 2.

Students can register for the full course (all 20 lessons) or for Unit 1 (first 10 lessons) now.
